I LOVE LEATHERFACE AND HE LOVES ME! My favorite depiction is the original Leatherface, Bubba Sawyer, but I don't mind the Hewitts and everyone else either! Bubba is just my favorite and he's the version of Leatherface that I'm in love with! I've been in love with him for about three years now and he means a lot to me!

Leatherface is a character from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. He first appeared in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) as the mentally disabled member of a family of deranged cannibals, featuring his face masks and chainsaw. Created by Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel, Leatherface was partially inspired by the crimes of Wisconsin murderer Ed Gein, in addition to confessions by serial killer Elmer Wayne Henley. The character has subsequently been represented in various other media, including novels, video games, and comic books; appearing in all nine films in the series. He's my favorite character of all time and I am literally in love with him. I would do anything for this fictional murderer no matter what.
Leatherface is the main killer of the family, as shown in the first movie. Nubbins(The Hitch-hiker) and Chop-top also do a good bit of the killing in the series, but it's almost always mainly Leatherface! Bubba is the youngest brother of the Sawyer family, with Chop-Top and Nubbins being the middle children, and Drayton being the oldest. Drayton is the cook of the family, and he doesn't typically kill anyone directly.
I personally would argue that Bubba is almost completely innocent. Bubba has grown up in an environment where he has been conditioned to believe that killing & eating people is totally normal, and he hasn't known anything else(supposedly), as we rarely see him interact with people outside of his own family unless he's killing them(or, flirting with them, as seen in the second movie)!
Leatherface was first portrayed by the late Gunnar Hansen (who went on to portray Boss Sawyer in a later installment of the franchise), Bill Johnson, R. A. Mihailoff, Kane Hodder, Robert Jacks and Mark Burnham!
In the original film, Leatherface wore three different masks: the "Killing Mask", "Old Lady Mask" and "Pretty Woman Mask". Gunnar Hansen commented: "The reason he wore a mask, according to Tobe and Kim, was that the mask really determined his personality. Who he wanted to be that day determined what mask he put on. So when Drayton comes home with Sally, Leatherface is wearing the 'Old Lady Mask' and he's wearing an apron and carrying a wooden spoon, he wants to be domestic, helpful in the kitchen.
At dinner he wears a different face, the 'Pretty Woman,' which has makeup." Also of note, the 'Pretty Woman' outfit consists of a female wig and a black suit, as Leatherface is "dressing up" for dinner, an old deep south tradition which stems from his southern upbringing, and the 'Killing Mask' is the skin mask he wears while chasing and murdering captives. Tobe Hooper also discussed the multiple masks and dinner scene on the audio commentary for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
